About your haunting questions

If you pause to analyze your thoughts, you’ll quickly see how full of questions they are. Some of the questions are very practical — How can I pay my bills? What shall I make for dinner tonight?

But we’re also haunted by deeper questions — Why is the world so full of trouble? What is the meaning of my life?

The questions never quit.

This Sunday I’d like to explore a very big question with you. I’m approaching this opportunity in the belief that if we answer this question well, our answers will help us with all the other questions of our lives.

The big questions is, Why Christianity?

Of all the perspectives, religions, and lifestyles available to us, why should we choose the Christian one?

There are some very good reasons for making this choice, and we can’t make it only once. The challenge of the Christian journey is to choose to follow Jesus every day. In order to do this, we need some important spiritual answers, which means we have to keep seeking and learning throughout our lives. This process never ends, and the more committed we are to it, the more we insight we’ll find to guide us.

I invite you to bring all of your questions about life and faith to Central Congregational Church this Sunday. I will bring mine too! Let’s come in the confidence that no question is too big for God, and that we’ll find answers in the Scriptures for even life’s most perplexing dilemmas.

With love and warmth,

Evan Howard,
Minister
