All good things for you (and for me and every other person) come from walking in the ways of the Lord. In the words of Psalm 34:10: “Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” In Ephesians 1:3, the Apostle Paul adds that in Christ we are blessed “with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.”
This Sunday we’ll focus on these promises as we continue to explore the theme THE UNEXPECTED LIFE. Specifically we’ll revisit the miraculous blessing Sarah and Abraham received when their son Isaac was born.
Unexpected blessings come to us as well, but the question is, Do we recognize them? Do we savor and protect them?
The experience of Sarah and Abraham demonstrates that certain skills are required. These skills are absolutely essential for anyone who wants to live with purpose, resilience, focus, and joy.
By its very nature life is full of unexpected events. We’re taught from a young age always to be prepared — especially for the worst. But what happens when we fail to prepare for the best? That’s where Sarah and Abraham have some important lessons to teach us.
Let’s gather for worship this Sunday and learn from them together!
With love and expectation,
Evan Howard,
Minister
